Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office is located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being care, to community members. Job Description

About the Opportunity
Apunipima is seeking a Men's Wellbeing Support Worker to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of primary health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men residing in Mapoon.
It is a condition of employment for this position that the employee be vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with organizational policy requirements.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Willingness to work towards a Certificate III in Community Services, Addiction Management or Community Development (SACSW 1) or
Experience living and working in community, including engaging with community members, council and/or health service providers
Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with service providers
Ability to collect information and maintain records
Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
