Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service. Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office is located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being care, to community members. Job Description
About the Role
The Transport Driver / Groundsperson position is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation and general maintenance of the Apunipima grounds, gardens and buildings. This is a part time role for 20 hours per week.
There is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), for this position to be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants to ensure that cultural protocols and customs are met.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Physical ability to safely perform manual tasks and meet the inherent physical requirements of the role.
Knowledge of safe working practices in the provision of client transport and maintenance of grounds
Be able to communicate with clients/patients, community members, other staff and service providers
Be able to record information relating to the role
Desirable
Demonstrated experience in providing safe and reliable client transport services.
Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of properties, including gardens and grounds.
General handyman skills.
Mandatory
Current Queensland Driver's License
Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
AFP National Police Check or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.
