Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service. Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office is located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being care, to community members. Job Description
About the Opportunity
The Cleaner is responsible for the general cleaning of the Primary Health Care Centre and staff accommodation (where provided by Apunipima) ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all facilities. This is a part time role for 20 hours per week
There is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), for this position to be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants to ensure that cultural protocols and customs are met.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience undertaking general cleaning duties including use of cleaning equipment (such as vacuum cleaner etc)
Physical ability to perform a full range of cleaning and related tasks
Be able to communicate with team members and others.
Mandatory
Current Queensland Driver's License
Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
AFP National Police Check or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.
